Winter Sunrise

The sunrises over the prairie have been quite colorful lately.

There have been some mornings with mist in the air which creates a lovely pink glow.

This windmill has witnessed more than 100 years of sunrises.

The harvested cornfields lie quietly, resting beneath a snowy blanket.

And a trio of pine trees huddles against the cold.

Cattle, corn, wheat, beans, mud, snow, ice, and drought. Plenty of fresh air and quiet. Our life is sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes joyous, but never boring.

I’m glad everyone survived the blizzard. We just got rain here in Wash. DC. I was reading some back posts (gardening, recipes, etc), and saw your onion harvest. Have you ever grown garlic? I never have but have always wanted to try it… Onions look fairly easy so maybe I’ll try planting some this spring.

      Hi Eliza,
I’ve never grown garlic, but I think it’s very similar to growing onions – pretty simple. Good luck!

  9. As usual stunning photography for me to get lost in!! I envy you the openness to be able to capture the beauty of the sunrises without the obstacles of powerlines or buildings. Th
