Every fall and winter we see thousands of Canada Geese winging overhead flying south, or resting in farm fields. But to see them in the summer is a bit of a rarity. So we were surprised to see this small group resting at the Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge on our recent visit.
Can you imagine sleeping while standing on one foot, like the one on the right?
Thousands of Canada Geese hang out in the winter here, but this was a small group of only four (these three and another one swimming nearby).
We figured it was a family group, two parents and a couple of young raised here this summer.
