Trumpeter Swans Bathing

Recently on a visit to Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge, we watched a group of swans sleeping, preening, and socializing. And this one was bathing.

Splish splash…

splash splash splish…

flap flap flap.

Ahhh….that feels good. Part of their bathing technique involves turning over into the water upside down and flapping their large webbed feet in the air.

We found ourselves giggling at them. We should all enjoy bathing as much at these guys do.
