One evening last week Harland and I hopped into the truck and drove to one of the fields that was planted in winter wheat last fall. From the road, the wheat appeared to be golden and ready for harvest.
But as we got close to it, we saw that there was still some green left in the heads,
so we figured it would be about a week before it would be ready for cutting. As the sun set and in between slapping off pesky flies, we took pics of the ripening crop.
Wheat is fun to photograph, one of those things that it’s hard to take a bad picture of.
This week Harland took a break from baling hay. The wheat was finally ready for harvest, so he hopped out of the tractor and into the combine to bring in our first crop of the year.
I’ve taken lots of pics and video of the harvest and will be sharing those soon!
