The Daffodils Are Waiting

For seven straight days now it has been cloudy and cold here. I realize this is spring and we can’t expect lovely weather every day, but SEVEN days of cloudy dreary weather is just a bit much. Everyone is dragging themselves around going through the motions and waiting for at least one good warm day. The sun tried to peek out yesterday, but the evil clouds quickly hog-tied it into submission. So we wait. The only bright spot in the garden right now is the daffodil bed.

There are a few buds there waiting along with the rest of us for the sun. The first warm day they get, those buds will explode in a riot of joyous spring celebration.

I can’t wait.

Cattle, corn, wheat, beans, mud, snow, ice, and drought. Plenty of fresh air and quiet. Our life is sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes joyous, but never boring.

We have had over a week of sunshine and high 70’s/80’s temps. We are in the middle of three days of clouds and I’m anxious for the sun. Your seven day streak makes me feel spoiled. Wishing you sunshine and warm weather.

I so agree with you. I am READY for some sunshine after the past seven days of clouds & cold. I loved your choice of words on how the evil clouds hog-tied the sun into submission. I will be sharing that with my daughter who is a meteorologist. I’m sure it will bring a smile to her face too! Let’s hope the sun really does come out tomorrow!

Only 34 here now and down to 27 tonite but, at least we have some sunshine glowing thru and warming the windows. Which my Sam cat is enjoying as we speak!!

  7. Wow, I think your daffodils are a little further along than ours. I know what you mean about just dragging along through the cold spring! I have been dragging along this whole week! We’ve had some blue skies, which I’m thankful for, but it is so darn cold!! We have snow yesterday! I was surprised that it actually stuck to the grass. It melted but, man did it come down in buckets! Even though I don’t want to see snow at all…it was a tad bit pretty..but like, ok, you’re pretty, now go away! LOL I feel like this spring is colder than last spring!

  8. Gorgeous pics Suzanne!
