Reinisch Rose Garden

Couple weekends ago, we headed down to Topeka to visit the Reinisch Rose Garden. I had been to the garden several years ago, but it was early in the year and the roses weren’t blooming yet. This time the roses were in full gorgeous bloom.

There are over 400 varieties of roses in all different shapes and sizes – from tea roses to fairy roses, small rose bushes to climbing roses, and every color, or shade of color, you can imagine.

The color of those roses are just the break I needed from a busy work day. They are beautiful!!! Thank you ever so much for sharing. It must have smelled wonderful. Those petals on the roses look just like velvet. Good picture taking. What a nice way to spend time!!!

I have grown accustomed to the knock out roses here in Lexington. This year I have planted four of them.

Every year when my Dad was alive he used to go to the huge city cemetery near his home, which was full of fabulous rose plants and take close up photos like you have done and stick them on cards to send at Christmas time. We live in Australia, so Spring time when the roses are blooming is just before Christmas. Your photos reminded me of his.

Fabulous photos Suzanne! You have a real gift! Roses are my favorite flowers! My sweet mother loved them, too.

  9. Vicki says:

My roses looked like those last year. Dumb luck on my part. This year the weather has been terrible for roses. No matter what I use they are almost defoliated from black spot and the few buds are deformed. It is heartbreaking. Thank you for reminding me how beautiful they can be.

Spray spray and then spray some more. Some years you can’t spray roses enough. Love the older varieties that aren’t spray needy.

Named after my great grandfather E F A Reinisch. He designed them.
