The Ranch Store Prairie Dog Town

Yesterday after I got home from work, Harland and I picked, shucked, blanched, bagged, and froze all of our sweet corn. Our kitchen’s a mess, and we got to bed a little late, but that job’s done for another year. I didn’t get a chance to go through any vacation pics for you, but I do have a little video I made of the prairie dogs we saw at a place near the Badlands called The Ranch Store. I had mentioned this place where you can feed the prairie dogs and get close to them in a blog post earlier this week.

Anywho, here’s what life looks like from a prairie dog’s perspective:

Enjoy!

Cattle, corn, wheat, beans, mud, snow, ice, and drought. Plenty of fresh air and quiet. Our life is sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes joyous, but never boring.

Love the video, but feel bad you had to work so hard on the corn. I know you will enjoy the corn, when the snow flies this winter. My dad would bring home bushels of tomatoes, peaches, green beans, and expect my mom to can it immediately. What a job! Thanks for the prairie dogs, they are too cute!

So how much corn did you get this year? Lots of work but oh-so-good later!
