The Tomato Plants Are Up

Remember when I showed how to plant tomato seeds?  Well, they’re up!  We have bouncing baby tomato plants. I took the plastic wrap cover off as soon as they popped up to give them room to grow, and have been transferring the tray from window to window following the sun.

And I turn it each time so they are not overleaning toward the sun one way or another. I water only as needed. They aren’t taking up much water right now, and it would be easy to overdo it and cause a mold problem or worse.

Here’s a time lapse of one of the plants popping up.

.

I’ll have more to come on the progress of our growing family. Stay tuned.

They are beauties! I’m glad I’m not the only one chasing the sun from window to window!

It’s that time of year Debby. My husband watched me moving them to another window yesterday and commented that they would be well traveled before we planted them in the garden. 🙂

  4. Look at you with the time lapse video!!!!!! That was awesome! I am very impressed! I loved it, that was so cool. I am so jealous because I still haven’t planted my tomato seeds yet. Soon! Soon! Soon!

I have to plant hollyhock seeds yet, and I should have done that weeks ago Bonnie. Argh. I can’t keep up.

  5. Congratulations, Mom! 🙂 Mine are about a week behind yours… I’m watching and waiting… 😀

Yes, the time lapse is very cool! How did you film it?

    • Suzanne says:

      Hi Pam,
Thank you! It was actually Harland’s idea. He set up the camera on a tripod, and set it to take a pic every 2 minutes. Then we waited. And waited. More than 12 hours and hundreds of pics later, we got the shots we wanted. Then we uploaded them into some video software, and turned them into a movie. It was fun, and we’ll have to do it again.
