Cattle, corn, wheat, beans, mud, snow, ice, and drought. Plenty of fresh air and quiet. Our life is sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes joyous, but never boring.

Awesome! So that is what rain sounds like, lol. West Texas has been somewhat short on rain, too.

  3. Carol says:

Yeah! Prayers really are answered, if not as fast as we would like!

  4. So glad you got some much needed rain too. We had a bit of wind with our 10 minutes of rain, and it knocked a huge tree down into the street and my neighbors yard. (Missed all the houses, thank goodness.) The whole big tree just snapped like a toothpick , leaving a a few feet of jagged trunk still standing there in the ground.

So glad you finally got some rain! I hope you get some more soon and that your pastures green up for the cows, too. You can see for miles… amazing! xx

I keep noticing when they give the drought reports that your part of the state and northwest Missouri isn’t listed as severe. So glad you got some IN TIME!!!

    Yea! It’s about time!!

I could almost “smell” that rain! We are in a drought here – our ponds have all dried up and I am afraid we are going to loose some of our bushes and trees. I too am watching the heavens and praying for rain. So glad you received some – hopefully more to come.

That is great we have had showers off and on all week has really helped the green beans and the squash and sweet potato’s. Ellen from Georgia

Wonderful. Winter here. Wet as anything on the coast where I am. Even the field of gold is wet is what is usually a desert like climate. Best wishes. Kerry

Winter there wow it is up in the low 90’s here and down to 62 in the morning. We expect at least another month of warm weather maybe two, not really cold in Georgia once every ten years or so we might have a dusting of snow. I can’t really plant any Fall crops until late September. That is unusual a desert climate, I always like looking at the video’s and the pictures you post. It tells me what the other part of the country looks like and how you garden or grow crops. Ellen from Georgia

  15. Rain, glorious rain!! I know you guys were so happy to get it! I am happy you posted this, because now I know what you see from your house…I didn’t picture it like this….for some reason I pictured trees in your yard or something…so this is neat…we get to know each other a little by these blogs and it also gives a new view on what you see on a regular basis…like I can see what you see. I am making sense??? I should take some photos from my windows and doors so you can see what I see when I look out.

I certainly hope it was enough to make a difference and that there’s more coming. Hallelujah!

  17. Melanie says:

Oh, I miss that sound!! We have missed most of the rains. .finally, the temps are down in the 90’s and today upper 80s. .but still NO rain. .my “grass” is brown and crunchy. .and in several areas. .even the weeds won’t grow!! Glad you got some to keep your crops alive!!
