Cattle, corn, wheat, beans, mud, snow, ice, and drought. Plenty of fresh air and quiet. Our life is sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes joyous, but never boring.

Asparagus, dafodils, tulips and crocus. But mostly asparagus, because my Dad had 20 acres of asparagus on our farm and I got to be apart picking, packing, and delivering it to the packing plant every year for years. It never seemed like work because I enjoyed it so much and believe it or not but, we ate asparagus 3 times a day while it was in season and I still love it today.

Mowing the yard again…getting my fingers in the garden dirt…blooming trees…watching my perennial beds come alive…and yes, eating asparagus! (I only wish I had some in my garden!)

Asparagus is a test of patience when planted as you can’t harvest for several years. We planted ours 2 or 3 years ago now and this is the first year they are really offering a bountiful harvest.

wish computers could offer up the scents of pictures too so you could smell the lilacs.
      Happy Spring Julie!

Tulips, daffodils and hyacinths to look at and smell. Asparagus and strawberries to eat. Warm breezes and bright sunsets to enjoy. Wow, does it get any better than that!

Strawberries, sweet corn on picnics, the cat shedding, allergies, irises, hanging pots…air conditioning!
By the way I agree those are wonderful pics, thanks for sharing.

    • Suzanne says:

I had forgotten that one….our Kitty is shedding too, even more than she normally does 7/365. 🙂

Spring is azaleas to admire and crawfish to eat! <3

    • Suzanne says:

Beautiful azaleas…unfortunately we are too far north to enjoy those. And we have crappie and bass. I’ve never eaten crawfish..are they like shrimp?

    Tornadoes. 😛

    • Suzanne says:

Yeah, me too. Have lived through 2 of those…both in trailers. One rocked the trailer back and forth and the other ripped the skirting off and destroyed a neighbor’s house. Been lucky so far. 😮

Try not to press your luck…………….just sayin’.

  14. And, what a beautiful spring is has been!!!
    Lovely photos.

  15. Oh wow, what gorgeous photos! I love the pics of the asparagus. Spring to me is clean fresh warm breezes that don’t make you shiver, warm sun on my face that’s just the perfect temperature, daffodils peaking their heads, brilliant green color returning to the grass…yes!
