Summer Evening

Recently we had one of those perfect evenings at our place where the wind isn’t blowing, the birds sing from the trees, and all is right with the world.

So sit back, relax, and soak up the PEACE of the country.

Cattle, corn, wheat, beans, mud, snow, ice, and drought. Plenty of fresh air and quiet. Our life is sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes joyous, but never boring.

This was indeed peaceful! The trees threw me off for a bit…when I think of Kansas I think of flat and treeless! (My brother in law is from way western Kansas, and that’s really the memories of have of your state!) 🙂 Thanks!

      Thanks Alica.
The part of Kansas that most people are familiar with is western Kansas: flat and treeless. But that’s only a small part of Kanasas. The rest of it is rolling hills like northeast Kansas, Flint hills with tallgrass prairie like the central part of the state, or Ozarks with deep forests in the southeast corner. We have a big sterotype to overcome about Kansas being flat and treeless, but we’re working on it.

That’s what I like about reading blogs from other states/areas, etc…it’s so neat to see other places, even though I can’t go in person just now!

Thank you Suzanne for the lovely birds singing from Kansas! I have followed your blog for many months and so enjoy sharing your adventures. I am from Mo also, but living in CT now. I just wanted to tell you the bird post was delightful, but my CT dog searched the house looking for those Kansas birds!
