I Wish I Was Someplace Else

Ok, so it’s supposed to be 104 degrees here today, with a heat index of 110 degrees.

Oh – and if that’s not enough, we’ll have wind gusting up to 30 miles per hour.

Can you say blast furnace?    Toaster oven?

Hell on earth?

So, today, come back in time with me to 2009, when Harland and I took a trip to Washington and Oregon, two states where it rains regularly and it’s cooler.

Ahhhh………….

Stay cool today my friends.

Cattle, corn, wheat, beans, mud, snow, ice, and drought. Plenty of fresh air and quiet. Our life is sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes joyous, but never boring.

Come visit me today. It’s 64 and cloudy here in Vermont today, which is a whole lot better than the high 90’s at home in Florida.

That picture of you on the beach brings a smile to my face. I hope you survive the heat!

I’m in Colorado. We actually kind of look a lot like that second picture right now.

I’m in Washington State. We are having a very rare day of sunshine here today! It has been very wet and downright cold! Is there ever a happy medium? I have never been to Rialto Beach, but I will have to make a trip after seeing your beautiful photos. I will be sending positive thoughts that you get the rain and we get the sun! xx

Love the west coast! I spent time at a Bible School in Cannon Beach, OR…such a beautiful place!

What beautiful pictures! My grandmother used to fill a bowl with ice and set it in front of the fan, she had the first AC, until the ice melted! Sending you cool thoughts, Suzanne.

What a refreshing little trip you took us on this morning! Now I can face my 100-degree Chicagoland day with a heat index of 113*!!!!!! Air conditioning is my best friend today. 🙂

Aren’t those waterfalls gorgeous? Here in Va. it’s supposed to get over 100 today & tomorrow, so I’ll think of your pictures and have some ice tea. Stay cool everyone.

Welcome to my world. It is a little toasty in the desert Southwest in the summer but you cannot beat the Winter. I just keep reminding myself it is the price I pay for not owning a snow shovel, tire chains, snow boots, mittens, and winter coats. I did enjoy the wonderful cooling pics of the Oregon coast though. I think we all wish we all had a waterfall today. Stay cool! Drink lots of ice tea and make a nice cool dinner.

Isn’t it funny how we’re all different! From the first hot day of spring/summer, I can’t wait for fall/winter. Hot weather and I are enemies, lol. I’ll take snow any day over heat/humidity. I suppose in a perfect world I would choose 65* with sunshine every day.

    Lovely photos Suzanne!

It is hot as %*#” here in Kansas, and other parts of the US too. However, I am so glad not to live in one of the areas affected by forest fires and heat! Or deluged by rain!
Seems like there is rarely a happy medium!

    Thanks for the photo trip!
    Keep cool, if you can!
    Thank God for a/c!

  13. I put a mountain stream photo on my desktop yesterday hoping for the same effect.
