Out In The Field
May 4, 2011
Harland started planting soybeans this week and so last night I went out to see how it was going.
Tomorrow, come back for a video of my ride along on the tractor.

Cattle, corn, wheat, beans, mud, snow, ice, and drought. Plenty of fresh air and quiet. Our life is sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes joyous, but never boring.

aww, I enjoyed that! at first i thought he wasn’t going to talk…but then he did. “hi sugar” …that was cute! I like how you put the words on the bottom of the video!! that was awesome! can’t wait to see the tractor ride!
Harland’s a little shy on video, but I can’t talk, as I don’t want to be videoed at all. Maybe some day.
Tractors are some of my favorite motor vehicles; I look forward to seeing your ride video.
Mercy! I had forgotten that tractors are so loud; nearly blew me out of my chair until I turned the sound down. Can’t wait for the ride-along!
I learn something new everyday. Are you guys planting soybeans in last years corn field? Soil looks little dry too, is that typical for Kansas soil?
Yes, we practice no- till where seed is planted directly into last year’s stubble. Cuts down on soil erosion. And yes, it is very dry here. Hubby said last night that we may have to replant some of the field corn as it never germinated.
