Hurricane Isaac

This was as much as we saw of Isaac.

All day Friday, it edged closer to us in northeast Kansas until that evening the leading edge of the hurricane rested right over our heads.

The sun peeped out and illuminated the clouds.

A few raindrops fell.

And that was all.

The next day it continued on its merry way to the northeast.

No rain, but we did get a great view out of it.

How about you?

    Beautiful photos Suzanne!
I’m sorry that’s all you got out of Issac!
We (finally) got 5+ inches of rain! Thank God!
I don’t think we had had any significant rain in 3 months!
It took a hurricane to get a good rain here in Overland Park Kansas!

What gorgeous pictures! Oh my, how beautiful! Here in Philadelphia we have been getting the end of Isaac for two days. We need the rain, but not that much. Wish I could send some of it your way.

We are in east central Kansas….we had a cloudy day but not a lot of rain. I think hubby said quarter of an inch. I’m wondering if we will ever get caught up – it is dry, dry, dry here. Beautiful pictures!

Beautiful pictures of the sky. We got nothing. Sounds like you got the same.

Beautiful photos. Sorry you didn’t get the much needed rain. We got about two inches over the weekend here in WV. We needed it, but not as badly as you and others. Matter of fact, we are having a very nice thunderstorm at the moment. Nothing severe, just steady rain and thunder. Aaaaah….

Ominous looking sky! In north central Illinois we got a tiny bit of rain and a WHOLE LOT OF HUMIDITY. 😛

Coastal Massachusetts here and we were inundated with heavy rains accompanied by lots of thunder. Much localized flooding.

Last year Issac blasted through here and a mighty oak fell on my husband’s new Tundra truck literally totalling it. The noise of the crash of an 80+ foot tree rattled our home and scared the neighbors.

The force of nature is both awesome and awe-inspring as your photos today attest.

We got 1.5″ of rain, and a whole lot of humidity! We’ve been blessed with abundant rains this past month, so we were glad it passed us by for the most part!

  10. Wow, what a gorgeous sky that was. You know, I didn’t even pay attention to whether we got rain from Isaac or not…I know we did get a rainy day a few days back….hmm, musta been from Isaac! Your pictures are just so beautiful in this post!!
