Kitty And The Rainy Day

It’s rainy and windy here today. Harland is participating in an art show down south of Wichita, and hopefully selling some of his photography prints. This morning I did the cow chores – fed grain, checked to see if anyone was having a calf and needed help. Back at the house I’ve been doing laundry, dishes and such.

Kitty decided the best way to spend this day is on the dryer since it’s all nice and warm while it’s running.

Hmm….I see an opportunity to get some macro shots of her paws.

Now let’s see how close I can get to her nose.

Dryer:  “BEEP!! BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!!!!!”

Me: “AHHHHHHHH!! That sound is going to be the death of me!!”

Me:  “Ok, let’s see if this load is dry.”

Me:  “What do you think Kitty? Are they dry enough?”

Kitty: “No, turn the dryer on again.”

Me: “For how long?”

Kitty: “Five hours should do it.”

Me: “Do what!? Turn the clothes into fried carbon bits?”

Kitty: “Clothes? Who cares? I just want the dryer to keep running so I can finish my nap here where it’s warm.”

Me: “Thanks Kitty, glad to see you’re thinking of other people besides yourself.”

Kitty: ” Hey, no problem.”

Cattle, corn, wheat, beans, mud, snow, ice, and drought. Plenty of fresh air and quiet. Our life is sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes joyous, but never boring.

    LOL!

Kitty sure knows how to find the warm spots!
Top of the dryer must be like kitty heaven!

I hope you aren’t having severe weather up there!

11:45pm: No severe weather here, but Harland is staying in Wichita tonight. They just had a tornado go thru there. He called me couple hours ago to say that he was headed to the shower when he heard the tornado siren go off. He got dressed and drove north out of Wichita and stayed north at a rest stop until the tornado passed.. He just got back to his hotel, it’s still standing, but there’s no power there. He said east of the hotel looks like a war zone. He said he’s glad he got out – that he wouldn’t have liked to be that close to a tornado. He’s headed to bed, and will call me in the morn. Prayers for my honey that he has a safe evening.

I love kitty’s nose! It even has some orange on it – like my cat! 🙂

Don’t you love those macro shots of our kitty babies? Really cute photos: just how long DID you let the dryer run??

    • Suzanne says:

It ran for quite a while longer as I had several loads, but Kitty finally got too hot and got off the dryer. Even she has her limits. 🙂

So glad to hear Harland got out of the tornado zone.
You know I love your kitty. Shes just so cute and your photos are great. My Sam cat hogs the whole register consequintly I usually have a shivering breakfast in the winter. Who runs this house anyway.

    • Suzanne says:

In case you weren’t sure, your Sam runs the house, just like Kitty runs ours. Don’t kid yourself. 🙂

Great shots of Kitty. Good to know all are safe from the storms. Hoping to avoid severe weather here in Middle TN.

Great shots of Kitty! We do love our cats, don’t we?

Glad to hear that Harland missed the tornado. Praying for his safe return home.

We stay at a Days Inn in south Wichita when we visit there. It is right at Exit 1 on the expressway. I’m wondering if that was where Harland was staying. Sounds like there was a lot of damage around the Boeing area. That was where my dad worked when we lived in Wichita about 55 years ago. I have cousins in Derby and Andover, and there was wind damage near them, too.

  11. Hilarious! Every cat needs a warm place to sleep that’s not too convenient for the humans. My daughter’s cat (Cupcake) likes the laptop computer. (See for yourself if you don’t believe me! LOL) http://stacyallbritton.com/2012/04/16/the-best-cupcake-ever/
